- Are you DBS checked?
Yes - it is also renewed annually and you are welcome to ask to see it as well.
- Do you do Face to Face or Online Sessions?
I may be a little old fashioned in the way things are taught, but I believe subjects are best taught in person to make them fully interactive. Once a rapport is built with the student and I can gauge their interest and method of learning, then we can move some sessions online.
- Where do you teach?
At the moment all sessions are taught at the students home. Note that this must be at a private residence where the Parent/Guardian is present. I am working on an external setting where a class-room environment can be accomodated, I hope to have this setup in early/mid 2024.
- What are your fees?
My hourly rate is £35.00. If there is a fair distance to travel (i.e. outside of the catchment area mentioned below) then an additional fee is charged at 30p per mile (round-trip) from BA16 0EX. The rate is negotiable if you opt for regular sessions.
- What is your catchment area?
I generally cover 10 miles within BA16 0EX. Which covers a large area of Somerset, including:
- Ashcott
- Bridgwater
- Burtle
- Chilton Polden
- Compton Dundon
- Curry Rivel
- Ilchester
- Langport
- Meare
- Shepton Mallet
- Somerton
- Wedmore
- Wells
- What happens if I need to cancel a session?
A session must be cancelled by the Parent/Guardian as opposed to the student and as much notice as possible needs to be given. If the session is not going to be re-scheduled and is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice then the full session fee will be payable.
- Do you have any online learning materials?
Yes - all of my materials are available on the online portal. I use a CMS system called Moodle for this and all students (regardless of amount of sessions) are given access to this.
- Do you have any SEN experience?
My SEN teaching experience is ever increasing, and I have a child of my own with SEN as well. We can always arrange an introductory session to see if I can meet the needs of the student through my teaching.
- I would just like access to the online resources, is this possible?
Not a problem - all of our students get access to this free of charge whilst they learn with me, if you just want access to the material then we can do this for £20.00 per month.
